Our friend and brother in Christ, Daniel Phua passed away today (Jan 20).
His funeral mass will be held on Saturday (Jan 23), 2pm in Holy Rosary Church.

Our prayers will be with his family, and may God bless his soul.

Christmas Caroling Practices

The remaining practices will be on Saturdays 14th, 21st and 28th Nov 2009, 615pm - 715pm. Venue is at St Jude's Room.

Hey there,

Here are some photos of our Parish Feast Day 2009. They were taken by Kenneth. This year, the English Section Youth Ministry helped out in the table arrangements, the dewan banner and entertainment for the fellowship in the evening.

In the morning, a few youths gathered at Dewan Hsiong to set up the tables, put up the superb banner and did a bit of sound check.

As the most panjang one of the bunch, Keith had to do all the tying..

While the ladies chilled... "Oi, slightly to the right a bit la!"

We found some really interesting balloon decorations. Such as...

Well, anyways, evening came and the weather was great for procession!

So, we're done with our social outreach project for this early part of the year..
Moving on~~~

As mentioned...
We will be having a Saturday evening event on 4th April...

So what is this all about?

For starters, I am not sure about the rest of you, but I myself do have some times "forgotten" about balancing my life with God and His teachings. I mean.. seriously.. talking about religion among your friends or the people around you can be very very hard, and most of the time, it's a TABOO topic if they do not have the same religion as I have...

So yes.. does this mean that we should forget about including God's teaching in our lives? And also our duty as Christians?

Eh.. this does not mean that we are going to brain wash you on that Saturday evening ok? It's not going to be a boring session.. because... We have invited guest speaker, Mr. Mervin to give us a view on how we can BALANCE off things in our lives, especially when we have loads of STUDY and other FUN ACTIVITIES to be busy with.

For those of you who remember Mr. Mervin from our past Fun4Christ camp.. you know that he's going to make lots of jokes again, as for you all who donno him, COME and find out yourselves~!! (^^)

Let's not forget again, that FOOD is PROVIDED~!! *hehehe~~ ;p*
And how much to pay? NOTHING~!! It's FREE~ PERCUMA~ 免费~!!!

So yeah, I am looking forward to see you on next Saturday evening~!!

Youth Rally 2009 by DST

Yo ho all~!

Now.. this event, Youth Rally 2009 will be conducted by DST on the 25th and 26th of April (Saturday and Sunday), it will be a 2 days event, but nope, we will not be staying over somewhere for the night *meaning we will still have to go back home la..*

This event is meant for teenagers and young adults from 17 to 34, those who are 15 and 16 years old are also welcomed to join, however, we'll have to get your parents' consent on your participation in this event.

The participation fee for each person is RM30. I was told that this fee will cover food and the materials that we will be given there, all but transportation la~

So yes, looking through the list of speakers, I believe that this event is going to be an amazing experience. There is also going to be a concert on the night of 25th, which I was told that it will be pretty "GENG"...

For those of you who are interested to join, you would have to contact me FAST as there are limited space for this event *so I was told..*, I can be reached @ 016-2182108, or you can always look for me in church on Sunday mornings :)

Social Outreach: Pusat Kasih Sayang

Yes... as mentioned, we went to Pusat Kasih Sayang last Saturday as part of our social outreach program during Lent.

Everyone gathered in church before leaving...

It was drizzling/raining as we were on our way to PKS, the road wasn't bumpy, but we somehow got caught in some minor traffic jam due to the after-work "rush" back home...

... what time did we arrived PKS again? 3 plus? *paiseh.. cannot remember..*

Just a brief note..
Pusat Kasih Sayang is a center for women and young girls with Down Syndrom.

Initially, I thought the place will be OK as I was told that it is under YWCA, but upon reaching there, I felt a little.. well, akward because it looks like a kampung house in the middle of a "suburban" neighbourhood.. *I believe you should know what I mean here..*

So it was this house, that's not very big... they have about 20 women/girls to look after, and I think there were only 3 main people to look after them.. I'm not really sure. I didn't get hold of the lady who was incharge of everything, but she sure looked stressed out having need to make sure everything was under control...

I heard that they are still looking for funds as it doesn't seem to be enough, I can understand because all these women/girls need special care, and everything they have in their daily lives depend on what others donate...

So yeah, we went over and share some love and joy by spending the afternoon with them, though it wasn't very long, still.. smiles and laughters can be seen on their faces.

Here, I only have a handful of pictures.
I will try to get the rest of the pictures soon.

Er... Paul wasn't trying to kidnap their Tweety pillow la..
He was just getting ready for a game.. (^^")

And guess what? We have 2 new upcoming events!

I believe that some of you saw us (the Youth Ministry people...) walking around from class to class promoting about this Social Outreach Program...

YUP! We're heading off to KLANG this time and do some GOOD~ *since it's LENT ma~*

Let me emphasize again, DINNER IS PROVIDED AND IT'S FREE OF CHARGE~!
You probably just need to find your way to church on Saturday afternoon, that's all~ ;)

Remember one of our Saturday night event? *there.. the "Why So Stressed?"...

IT'S BACK AGAIN!

This time it's WHICH PIE TO EAT?

This event will be for the month of April...

The first Youth Mass of 2009 was held on Sunday, 8th Feb 2009. All dressed in our brand new (ok lah, a couple of months old) baby-blue T-Shirt, everyone was in a cheerful and smiley mood :)

Christmas caroling for year 2008 has come to an END... kinda felt like we just started practicing not very long ago...

This year was splendid indeed! We have a handful of new carolers.. well.. ENERGETIC carolers to be exact... and yeah, very glad to have them to give the group a lot of UPMH! (^^)

Bukit Kiara Sri Hartamas BEC reminds me of the very nice food we had... it was pretty hard to sing when the food was placed right in front of us..

This year, we had Julian playing the guitar together with Paul Chuah!
I bet Paul Chuah is very happy and sorta-kinda making plans to "retire early"...
Hrm... I don't think that will work though ;p

The warming up session before we head off to sing for other people!
Oh~! We have NEW T-shirts!!! (^^)v~

Of course... we don't ONLY carol.. we have our post-caroling sessions too~

Oh yeah.. the boys really had fun "bouncing" in Edwin's car...

Well.. I tried to be in the picture by "jumping" in while they were taking a picture.. and yeah.. didn't happen..

Still... we had a lot of fun going from house to house...
And nope, I don't think the the FUN ends here... (^^)

HRC Youth visits The Little Sisters of the Poor!

Okay, lets get one thing straight - this place looks like a freaking villa or mansion. No, wait. IT IS A FREAKING VILLA/MANSION/WHATEVER GIGANTIC STRUCTURE!! Minus the playboy bunnies, of course.

I missed the Mass service and the tour...so can anybody tell me what happened? From Clarice's photos, the place looks really top class and huge! Not to mention that it looks a little too good for an old folks home..

In church, Regina said:

Then again who knows? This position can be rather misleading at times. If I'm not mistaken, there was a French priest preceding over the mass? I didn't manage to hear his sermon, so I might need some input here...!

After mass, it was time to play!! The youths were getting themselves busy trying to blow balloons for the old folks to play. I only hope that it won't suddenly burst - might give someone a heart attack!

Well from the pics, everyone seemed to be having a great time. But pics can be deceiving, of course. (Psst, you guys had a great time, right? I'm not talking about the KFC yaa)
Can you spot the aunty behind Regina? Hehe.

Uncle Paul had his fair share of fun too! He was requested to serenade to this sweet old lady. I wonder what must've been going through his head that time. "Jingle bells!" Was it not?

Here's a cheeky old lady. It proves that they are very much alive and not dull and boring as some of us expected them to be! By the way, the maintenance for her wheelchair cost RM10,000 a month! Would you believe that!??

We only had time for 2 games..after that it was time to balik *cough*..KFC..
The nice priest there also gave each and everyone of us a card, personally signed and from the bottom of his heart! Very meaningful gift indeed.

After that KFC here we comee!!! Eat kow kow. Never had this large group before at a fast food outlet. Isn't it great to join the youths? LOL!

Yeah~ Christmas is near~!

In church, the usual tree that hangs the simple wishes of those from the homes was set up in the main entrance...

I took one of the cards... I cannot help but to feel a little blue when I read the simple daily things that are listed as the things they wish to get this Christmas...

I felt very blessed indeed.

Yeah... we had meetings.
So it means that there will be activities coming up, like caroling and the mentioned out reach program this Sunday!

We are going to have our last caroling practice for the year this Saturday @ 6 to 7.30pm in St. Jude's room~

Coffee Morning~

So... what was "Hip and Happening" lately in HRC?

We had a COFFEE MORNING by the Confirmation 2 students to raise fund for the play~

OK... this time, I really think that I don't need to do much of the "typing"... picture tells it all~

*this is the very first time we have a chocolate fondue machine for coffee morning!!!*

As you can see... there were really A WHOLE LOT of FOOD~
And best of all, they are CHEAP for a fund raising coffee morning!

I thought it was more like a BAZAAR FOOD SALE instead...

So.. how did the people in church "react" to it?

Haha~! Caught cha!

Yes... they are all wearing their HAPPY faces~

BRAVO to the all the students, teachers and parents that participated!
I really think they made this a HUGE SUCCESS!

Feast Day

I kinda only remembered that I haven't updated the blog about the Feast Day... hahaha (^^")

OK, here goes!

Last Saturday was HRC's Feast Day!

To start it off... the weather wasn't really bright and shiny in the afternoon...

I went to church early just so that I could get myself a nice parking space, cause they cannot allow the cars to park like the usual Saturday and Sunday masses since procession will be going on right after mass...

So yeah, it was raining... and it was really a heavy pour when I reached there...

Inside church, everyone was busy doing/preparing something...

We had both the Chinese and English group musicians for mass... and it was really superb!!

Tents were set up to cater for more people... this is the left side of the church, er... I don't really know if there is also a tent on the right side... ;p

Mass ended.. and so did the rain.. and procession along with the praying of the rosary took place.

Of all, these little flower girls were the ones having the BEST TIMES of their life! They were pretty much enjoying "sprinkling" everyone and everywhere with flower petals! (^^)

After that, it was DINNER TIME! *church calls it FELLOWSHIP...*

Zinc roof and tents were set up earlier in the day, and it was very much the driest place in church that day...

Each BEC prepared something special for everyone to feast on... I didn't manage to take any other picture of this scene, there were TOO MANY people and it was really over crowded! *and I was hungry too...* (^^")

In the hall, we have our very own Youth group *and specially invited Vima~* performing the entire night for the people..

We also specially invite our visiting priest *er.. I forgot his name, but I know he is from St. Ignatius Church* to go up stage and sing for us! He sang "You Raise Me Up" with powerful voice like Josh Gorban's!

Well, the Youth Ministry was called to ASSIST in the cleaning up...

But when our performers are done with performance, we realized that the place was pretty much cleaned up by everyone who stayed and helped. And so the performers had their dinner, and thank goodness they kept food for them!

Yup... this was how it looked like... All the other tables were kept aside... We had the EXCLUSIVE table all to ourselves, with Father Daniel and Aunty Elaina kept asking the performers to eat more...

After that, all that was left was to pack and keep the instruments and... yeah... lots and lots of jumbled up cables.

Oh oh... something that really caught our attention in the hall was...

The hall was fully deco-ed with BALLOONS this year...
We wonder WHY... hrm... *and some of them looks SCARY... and EVIL...*

That rounds up the Feast Day this year.

What's next in line?
Well, I'm not sure... I think it is about time to get ready for Christmas caroling~! Hahaha, how time FLIES!

WHY SO STRESSED?
Ok, no need to stress anymore...the event is finally over. We hope you guys had fun, okay? Even if you didn't had any fun, you must also say you had fun...after Regina become sad.

Response for the event was better than expected! We kinda anticipated a few superstudents to fong fei kei, thankfully that was kept to a minimal.

We started the night with a game - called 'Pass the Message'. A simple game yet some people can't seem to get it right! Well, I guess it's okay to suck. Sometimes.

We divided the crowd to 2 teams...and realised we had more people than we thought. Each time had like almost 20 fellars, chances of screwing up the message was very, very high.

Team superstars such as Mathieu occasionally tried to help (cheat) the team by shouting out the message that he heard. Well, obviously with the background music playing and everyone talking so loudly...this would surely add to the confusion. Oops?

One of the messages for Team 1 was:

We are the Youth Ministry of the Church of the Holy Rosary. We are having an event called WHY SO STRESSED and we are happy to be here. Right...

But we get back our response, which was:

We are the Youth of HRC bla bla bla. Something something and why are we so stressed today? We are having fun here.

Sometimes we can't help but to give them 'The Stare'. So young already memory so cha meh? Nevermind, Regina provides counseling services on how to tackle this memory problem. So you know who to find, yes?

Then came the food!

Everybody loves food. But some complained that it was like jail...must line up and all that. I personally felt that the food was just mediocre. The bun and spagetthi were cold and almost like rock solid! Still, alot of people stated on the feedback form that the food was great, excellent, bla bla...

Okay lah, if it really is that nice, then good for you all! But there were so much food left that alot of it had to be given away to the Myanmar refugees - which wasn't entirely a bad thing. We fed the poor and hungry!

Now can anyone please tell me what this is? Apparently it wasn't really popular among the crowd as it had the most leftovers. I'm guessing its some kinda kickass funky potato? I didn't dare to try...(my excuse was because I am still sick). What's yours?

Praise and worship was great! The new musicians which we roped in showed promising signs of progress. We even had fun doing the 'na na na na...hey!' song, where everyone tried to smash each other on their left and on their right. With a little bit more practice, I think the band can perform at Dataran Merdeka in no time! (dunno if got people turn up or not la..)

This is our guest speaker, Mr. Franklin Morais!

He seemed to loved the Edison chap, because Edison stood out like a thorn among the roses! Or was it the other way around? Some jokes were rather funny but I thought it might be a little deep for some kids below 14. I noticed them wandering away to happyland where they were busy yapping away and contenging their papers. Sorry la kids.

Mr. Franklin: Alright, now who can smell this and tell me what flavour it is??

Msgr. Daniel Lim had to intervene to give a private 1 on 1 counseling session. Hey, not everyone can get this special treatment okay?

Okay, so it was all made up in good fun. We all had fun, yes??

Come on! Well, I'm just going to assume everyone had fun because I read most of your feedback forms and it was very good. Too good, in fact. Nobody lied right? God is watching yea...

Why so stressed?

Yes people, the good times are here again! We, the Youth Society of love and care of CHR (did you know that we are actually known as the Church of the Holy Rosary, not Holy Rosary Church?) have got together to bring to you guys our latest project, dubbed - 'Kenapa stress sangat?'.

That would be 'Why so stressed?' in English...for you chaps out there who don't understand our mother tongue. But we have placed high confidence in each and every one of you - don't disappoint us!

As of now, I have receive confirmation for at least 30 attendees. I hope this doesn't include our Youth Team or else it will be damn sad...like organising an event for ourself.

Come on guys! (and girls..) It is still not too late to register and sign away your Saturday evening! I'm sure you can afford not to go kai kai or stay at home and be hooked on the computer one day, right?

Yes~! This will be the upcoming September event for our Youth Ministry!

We know that exams are around the corner, probably a handful of ya all are very stressed now because of it... And also for those who are working too, datelines after datelines...

So we came up with something that will get us together, some music for the night, makan and also a talk and workshop that will be conducted by someone whom I look up to very very much~! (^^)~ Promise an interesting and FUN evening for all~!

See... we didn't just simply simply come up with things, we did went through the night trying to make the BEST out of everything you know?

Everyone was cracking their head for this, even Susan jie-jie was very inspired with... *erm*... the event!

So yeah~!
Do look out for us this few weeks in church~!

Today, a few of us had a meeting with the student from Confirmation 2, because they have a BIG plan as an activity for graduation (^^)~

I'm not going to reveal a lot here, but from what I see today, I am surprised by the level they would like to achieve, and all the ideas they have too~!

So yeah, this shall be a year end project, and since this is the "planning-to-get-things-started" stage, do look out for updates here, er... every now and then la~! *hehehehe*

This... is a "very very short-story" of 5 youngsters taking part in P.R.E., where 2 were participating for the first time, 1 took part before, and the other 2, well, they are pretty much the "moyang-people" for HRC's P.R.E. *but still youngsters la..* (^^)

The first session started on Friday evening *this shot is taken from the playground that evening*.

And what was this 3 days all about?
I guess, each of us interprets it differently.
To me, it's a reminder of why this path has become important in my life...

The questions that we're being asked to think of, and reflect, was... well, was very tough~!
Paul Chuah, Keith and I had to really really take sometime to understand some of the questions itself, and when we kinda "got a grip" on that question, we then found ourselves trying hard to "think for the answer", although... there really wasn't supposed to be a RIGHT or WRONG answer.. but still...

All in all, I bet we did experienced a lot from this, and learned a lot of other experiences from the, *ehem* the other members of the church as well.

Should we have P.R.E for the youth?
I guess it's only a matter of time (^^)~ *ok, for some reason, I felt like I'll kena shoot for saying this, hahahaha~*

How it will be for us, will definitely have to be.... er... a "younger version" than this we have had, otherwise the entire group will just look like this through out the 3 days --> (o,O)

I guess this is all I could post for now...
Maybe I'll post a few more pictures soon about the participation. (^^)~

Musicians On Strike??!

Where have the musicians gone?

Not to worry folks, the musicians are not having a strike (to protest on petrol prices maybe?). What you are seeing , is actually a phenomenon called NO KARANT, as they used to call it back in those days (yes, I know, I am that old to have those magical words fall upon my ears). The last blackout I remember in church was due to a power surge caused by lightning strike mid-way through mass, many years ago.

Apparently, the blackout this morning was due to a power-station failure down the road of our church. The musicians set up their instruments anyway just in case the power comes back on mid-way through mass. But nope, it didn't come back on till just before Sunday School classes started. And so the Music Ministry resorted to singing Acapella style with the trusty Hymn books.

On one hand, we may complaint that it's the year 2008 and our electricity supply is still subjected to failure (come on guys, we've only got 11 1/2 years to the big Too O Too O), though we are still a Third World Country after all.

On the other hand, as Msgr Daniel reminded us today, we tend to take for granted what we have today. Our parents, our loved ones, our faith.. But imagine a world without electricity.. (yikes! Many people would be out of jobs! Including yours truly, working in a small fraction of the electrical industry).

Oh well, the mass this morning was indeed special in its own way. It helped us appreciate the beauty of the mass as it is.. no sound system, no music accompaniment, no projectors.. and it ended 25mins earlier than usual..

Sometimes, the best things are found in the simplest forms.. :)

It really has been fast..
One week since the meeting that I posted about..
Another 5 more days before Jesus Camp~!!

Since we're incharge of the activities, we'll just have to prepare all the "ka-chang" for it as well..

Today, a few of us gathered in Caryn's place to prepare the "ka-chang" for the treasure hunt, which is "the Most Ka-Chang Activity"..

Yeah, here you can see Paul and Caryn busy busy planning using the comp.. there were typing and searching for a lot of stuff... Wikipedia? (^^)~

And here's dai-lou Andrew and Fiona making the tags that will be used in one of the stations..
Eh, no easy task you know? It kinda took us a packet of Chicken/Char-Siew/Siew-Yoke Rice to figure out how to finish all these tags in the SHORTEST TIME~!! *Yes.. and WE DID IT~!!*

Oh.. this is a RARE scene..
Paul, for the sake of the "ACCESS" to another station, was learning how to make ORIGAMI using the all time favourite YouTube~!! (^^)~

Yeah.. it's no easy task..

An update for today.. teacher's meeting was held in the afternoon to discuss about Jesus Camp.

Andrew and Paul Chuah were not in KL, so they sent "God's Angels" there la.. (Susan jie-jie, Fiona and I)

You all should see the GAYA Susan jie-jie had with the 2 of us sitting on her left and right side.. Like those judge, with 2 assistants beside to discuss those "sap-sui" matters..

As you can see, cracking up heads ain't easy.. Even "right-hand" Fiona was having a tough time thinking a solution for it...

HRC's parking problems.

Last week was Divine Mercy week. Yippee! Uh, sorry?

Yeah anyway, there were a bunch of people who wanted their divine mercy picture blessed by Msgr. Daniel. It's good to have it blessed you know. Makes it more, holy. Right.

But today we're not going to talk about that. What we're talking about is HRC's PARKING PROBLEMS!
I'm sure many of you are already well aware of the problems we are facing in the parking sector. (that's if you even bother coming to church, you lazy #$@)
Yep, that's right. The ongoing construction work next door practically wiped out a good 60% of parking spots, which I'm sure, caused alot of people to frequent other churches instead.

Parking can be a real hassle too, especially when you've got this whole bunch of people rushing out after church service.

Stampede!! Hey, isn't that Bridget's dad? Hi Uncle! Guess what. You're on camera!

Now there are probably alot of guys like Bridget's dad whose car are more likely to be stucked due to the large amount of cars in the puny church compound.

What to do? So many cars but so little space. Everytime I come to church also tulan because of the parking problems. I'm more likely to end up like these guys here, parking in the middle of the road because of my time innefficiency.
Yes, I like to be fashionably late.

Everybody has to wait for somebody but it's not like anybody would realise that. Some people are real slow in doing their business, but what to do. Must bersabar with them la. This is church ma. You can't possibly ask an old aunty to walk faster to her car right?

Any ideas?

Easter Vigil 2008 - The Light of Christ

Easter.. a celebration of our Lord's resurrection after being crucified on Good Friday. Though not as commercial as Christmas, Easter and Lent season is pretty much the biggest thing on our spiritual calender.

As usual, the YOUth was on duty to provide music for both the Easter Vigil midnight mass and Easter morning mass.

The alter servers assisting Msgr Daniel with The Service of Light..

The congregation had their candles lighted up to brighten the pitch dark church..

Regina was the cantor for the first Responsorial Psalm during the Liturgy of the Word..

Andrew giving the reading on Moses bringing God's people through the Red Sea..

Then it was Fiona's turn to sing the Responsorial Psalm.. "Alleluia.. Alleluia.."

Baptism of the RCIA candidates who have been through their weekly classes for a year.. We welcome them into our church and community!

We were even treated to some pyrotechnics.. or bunga api.. after the midnight mass which ended at 1am. Street party in conjunction with the F1 race the next day..

Just to share a bit from Msgr Daniel Lim's homily on Easter Vigil.. He told a story of a farmer who owned a small plantation and a horse stable. When his son was old enough to help out in the farming works, the farmer requested his son to feed the horses early in the morning, before the sun rises, when it is still dark. There is a long straight path about 100m that leads from the farmer's home up to the horse stable. Left and right of the path are crops.

So on the first day the boy was to feed the horses, the father and son woke up early in the morning. Standing in the porch of their home, the boy's fear grew as he looked towards the long path that was in total darkness. The little boy then expressed his fear and insecurity to his father. The farmer then handed his son an oil lamp, and asked him how far he could see. "About half way along the path.." said the little boy as he held up the oil lamp towards the dark path. So the farmer encouraged his son to go along, to as far and the light from the oil lamp shined. So the little boy went, slowly fading into the long path.

About half way through the long path, the farmer shouted out to the son," how far can you see now?". "I can almost see the gate of the stable" shouted the little boy in reply. "Go on then, to as far as you can see" encouraged the farmer.

Then as the little boy arrived at the gate of the stable, the boy shouted out to his father, "Father! I am at the gate!". "Go on, open the gate and go into the stable!" replied the farmer to his son.

"I'm in now. What do I do next?" asked the little boy. And the farmer continued to guide his son to accomplish his task.

The moral of the story is.. we do not know what will happen tomorrow. We can only see as far as the light shines before our eyes now. And often, we worry about the future in our decisions we make today, whether it is our studies, career, marriage, family etc. Will I pass my exams? Am I on the right career path for myself? Is the one I am to marry meant for me? Am I able to bring food to the table for my family? These are among the many doubts we face in our daily lives. But the season of Easter brings the message of HOPE. Christ is our Light in our lives and he guides us to where we ought to go. Like how the apostles' faiths were all shattered when Jesus, their leader was crucified on Good Friday. But how triumphant and joyful they were upon knowing their Saviour has risen!

Palm Sunday 2008

The Holy Week begins.. Palm Sunday.. whereby the Jesus, riding on a donkey, was welcomed by the folks of Jerusalem waving palms in the air..

And as a usual custom for our parish, we have the blessing of palms at the main entrance of the church, followed by a procession around the church compound..

"All Hail King Jesus!!"

And the procession begins..!!

Christmas 2007 has come and gone (at press time).. All the hard work that we have been putting in has finally been paid (or still hutang? I'm not sure la).. The pictures in this post does not do justice what us carolers went through, but at least better than nothing.. Next year, besides singers, guitarists, percussionists, we will need camera women/men to snap more shots. I think Jennifer and Marisa took a lot of shots.. share share la..

Yes people, our carolling session for the year 2007 has already begun! So if you want to join us, it is still not too late. Better late than never, anyway!

Upon confirmed registration, you will be provided with the HRC Youth's Carolling Kit! Yes, you heard me right. You will be given free stuff, even though you are a complete stranger to us!

So what's in the carolling kit anyway? Simple. A HRC Youth Ministry T-shirt (which would probably cost about RM20)...

...a carolling X-mas hat, and a fully new and refurbished carolling booklet (which you can see from the previous post)! Now ain't that a steal or what?
All it would cost you is RM(Time + Voice). Cheap only ma..no integers involved also!

First stop...Aunty Susan & Uncle Paul's place!

It was so happen that Phelan and little Sammy were going to celebrate their birthday next week. So Aunty Susan decided to throw one big party to cater for her childrens' birthday, as well as to start off our carolling agenda.

One of a kind birthday cake for Phelan. I've always thought I've seen 'em all. Once again, I've been proven wrong.

Note to self: I'm going to adjust my human clock and push it 1/2 hour later...since Malaysian timing means everybody WILL be late anyway! I was told to go there at 9.30pm, mana tau everyone only started coming about 10.10pm!!
There you have it...Malaysians. Can't live with them, can't live without them.

Our group consist of about 15 happy-smiling-go lucky carollers. But wait, that's the problem! When got practice that time...got nobody. When the real thing starts, people start popping out of nowhere! No, not like popcorn that kind lah.

It was a good thing the 20-something crowd were pretty sporting as well. So much so as to light the candle while we were singing. Awww, so touching. Suddenly it felt as though we were performing for a live concert. Except that, our singing...err...

Eating is always one of the best part of carolling from house to house. And I'm glad to say, Aunty Susan's place always lives up to my expectation! (Aunty Susan is gonna have to maintain this standard next year too, yah?)
Look at that ham! Err, is it ham ah? I also dunno what I eating. Just wack down only.

Always remember to pray before your meal! Look, we were even blessed with the presence of Jesu- I mean, Louis...who positioned himself nicely on the table under the photo frame. How apt.

Here we can see that Kenneth just couldn't resist taking a bit out of little Sammy's cake. Look, he's even more excited than Sammy that he even pushed her aside and booked the 1st row seating!

Yes, we all know what kinda cake to get for Kenneth's birthday next time, ya?

Guess what? Once again the spotlight is on Kenneth. This time, it's on his head!
Well if you've noticed, Kenneth has regain some hair on his head, as opposed to the previously miniature bald patch (no offense la Kenneth! haha).
Looks like the Yun-Nam haircare treatment is effective after all?

GOLD BULLIONS!!! Oh wait, saw wrongly lah.

Look, "someone" even donated a gazillion one cent coins! Going to be outphased next year already lah...still want to throw on us meh! Think we MPPJ meh? Haha.

And once again, Kenneth gets himself under the spotlight.

Caroling "Ka-Chang" 2007

As you may or may not know,"Ka-Chang" is a Cantonese phrase for tools = 架撐. Not to be mistaken as:-
1. Bahasa Malaysia - Kacang = Bean / Peanut
2. Hokkien - Khah Ch'ng = Backside / Buttock
3. American Slang - Ka-Ching = Money (sound of the cash register). Shania Twain's song:-

First up here are the door gifts that we will be giving out to the houses we carol. I have to say Marisa and Jennifer did an excellent job in wrapping up the J&J products. My photo here does not do justice to the pretty wrapper and curly-wurly ribbons. Thanks to Juliana who bought the bottles and bottles of Baby Lotion and Tip to Toe Shampoo..

A box full of pressies..

Our collection box had to be sent for a make-over and overhaul as it was in a really beat up condition. We have been using the same box ever since we started caroling (which I think was in 2003), and this box has brought us much fortune, and some fame (we were featured in The Herald ok.. don't prraayy prraayy..). So being the typical superstitious Catholics that we are, we decided that no matter what, we will still continue to use our barang (including guitar chord sheets that looked like they've been to war) as long as we can, all in the name of "passing on the tradition". Caryn did all of the superb work on the collection box, but I just had to tambah something. I fitted "braces" using plastic sheets, to help hold the top flap.

Mr Snowman was stuck onto the box using double sided tape, but it did not last very long. So I sewed him onto the box. And had a hard time trying to tie the knots. What you expect? I ask my mom to sew my buttons ok.. Mr Snowman was always looking downwards, probably depressed of the upcoming fuel price hike, so I stiched his head to look straight.

The final masterpiece.. There are 3D Christmas Trees and Stars on the four sides. And of course, Mr Snowman is now forced to smile. Caryn did an awesome job don't you think? Oh ya, sorry la, the back ground is my messy table. Anyone want to help me clean before Christmas?

Here are some left-over "Ka-Chang" that I used for my "contribution"..

Here's our 2007 booklet! A huge improvement over the past years, with full color and comb-binding. Limited Edition of 20 copies only. We hope to use this for at least 3 years so to all carolers, please jaga the book! Previous years' booklets are so "ham-choi" (sayur masin) that look like we sang in the sewer or something. Once again, Juliana help printed all the booklets in color and Caryn did the front and back cover design. Apparently she got quite upset with the stationary shop that printed the front and back covers and binded the booklets for messing up some details, that she did not pay them! Don't mess with designers I tell you..

Now how did this phrase from "Silver Bells" pop up in "Winter Wonderland"? Unfortunately, we only found out while singing it on the first night of caroling (which Daniel Khoo will post something about). Embarrassing eh?? But at the same time quite funny also la..

Anyway, just for fun, here's a picture of my home's Christmas Tree. I set it up myself just now, since Fiona is not feeling well from her stomach upset. To everyone, if you have a tree at home (preferably a Christmas Tree la), please take a photo, upload it, and send me or Daniel Khoo the link. This was the last caroling practice that we had before going out to the homes and parties to carol. And by far this practice had the most attendance. We had siew pau for breakfast (thanks to Andrew). And Aunty Susan brought us some nice chocolate wafers.

About 2-3 weeks ago, I was asked to play for some BEC mass, located in somebody's house in the midst of somewhere in Bangsar.
Yeah, I didn't even know where I was. And even now, I didn't knew where I went. Blur case lah me.

We even had Father Daniel who was roped in to handle the mass for us. Special guest of honor!
I didn't had any idea whose house we were in, I simply say hi and bye to any uncles and aunties that I came across with. Maklumlah, I'm a nice guy mah.

See lah, during mass also we so happy can berchatting at the back. And not only that, we also had ample time to take lots of pictures of ourselves, not that we were infatuated with ourselves in anyway whatsoever, but because...we were bored?
It turned out to be more like a chill-out session, with Father Daniel as the speaker.

Here we have Fiona (also known as "baby"...although she's not that small anymore..ahah) trying to act cute. Or rather, caught in the act of acting cute. One way or the other, doesn't matter. Cute also lah hor?? (Thanks ah Fiona, owe me 1 chi yok yin fan)

Ah, here is my boss who dragged my ass down from PJ to play with him. On the upside, we were provided with really good food after the mass! Kudos and thanks to the cook, or aunty, or whoever it is you are! Got sooo many choices...nasi lemak, mee, biscuit, sherperd's pie...whatever yummy food you can imagine, it's all here.
Except shark fin soup. And char kuey teow. And Bak Kut Teh.
Ok lah, maybe got not sooo many stuffs. But still alot nontheless.

I can't really remember it now due to the fact that it was more than 2 weeks ago!

...only bad thing was that we were 'tortured' a little. It was almost 8.45pm, halfway during mass and we haven't taken our dinner yet! The food was just behind us but we were separated from it by a grill door. I guess it's appropriate to use the phrase, 'So near, yet so far!'.
We could only smell the food at admire it whilst our stomach groaned with all kinds of funny noises. Or maybe it was just mine.

The following Sunday, a small group of us went to visit the old nuns in I.J Convent, somewhere in KL I think. Yes, I could proudly say that our presence there brought them their much needed joy. It is not easy being 80 years old and finding out that you have little, if not no reason to live for. Although it may not be nice to say, but I'm sure that there are some of them there who are just waiting for their time to come.

The least we could do was to cheer them up!

Who said Andrew couldn't do anything?? Well, he certainly proved his critics wrong this time. He did...*tada*....projectioning! I'd say he did a pretty good job, and Regina gave a performance worthy of a round of applause as well!

Tagging along with the members of the St. Vincent de Paul for this outing was really an eye-opener for me. And I'm not one who would usually go for these kinda trips to old folks home or anything else, for that matter.
Yes I admit, I'm pretty much lazy. But so were the rest of you who weren't there!

It is not everyday that you get to see highly-motivated old people who desire nothing more than to just live a quiet life, help those who are less fortunate than themselves and to pray for the world to be a better place. I must say I am pretty much amazed as some of these old folks here are rather updated with the latest issues that has been going on in the outside world.
But I really do admire their courage to live and to praise the Lord, together with us!

The members of St. Vincent de Paul drop by this place once a year, I think. Perhaps I could be wrong and they would come down more than once, I wouldn't know.
But next time, YOU should come along too...just to get the experience of what's it like to be around these wonderful people. I was afraid at first too, afraid that I might be surrounded by old, sickly people with various contagious diseases.

But then again, I might have taken my imagination a little too far.

Makan time is always the best!
Here we were provided with chee cheong fun, porridge with yau char kuey, cakes, curry puff and even ice cream! Definitely much more than what I was hoping for.

Well, we had originally planned to go for a chun meal at Bangsar's Pork Noodles haven, but only to be stuffed till the brink here...I guess Pork Noodles will have to wait till some other time.

What a great weekend! For those of you who missed it, I hope that you would not miss the next one! (if any lah..)

Caroling Practice #1 2007

Our first caroling practice for the season started on Sunday, 11th Nov 07. It was quite surprising to see a couple of faces that have been "undercover" most of the year. But we welcome them with open arms nonetheless (we need your voices! Desperately!).

Youth Bible Sharing (4th Nov 2007) - Zacchaues

We gathered in the room above St Jude's Room (I don't know what the name of the room) for our monthly Youth Bible Sharing held on 4th Nov 07. And it turned out that the canteen was closed for that Sunday because the Sunday School held their Prize Giving Day that day, and provided food (pot-luck style), so the canteen operator decided to take a rest. So those who came for the Youth Bible Sharing had to "puasa" (hmm.. and I heard that the messenger promised delicious breakfast).

Well the reading that was discussed that day was Luke 19:1-10. And of all people, I was assigned to prepare for it and conduct the session. Basically, the reading was the story of Zacchaeus, the chief tax collector who lived in Jericho. Who climbed up the tree when Jesus was passing by because he was too short to look over the crowd. Then Jesus called out to Zacchaeus to come down from the tree and wanted to share a meal with him in his home. The crowd present grumbled at Jesus for "bergaul"-ing with sinners. But Zacchaeus repented and declared that he would give half of his possessions to the poor and he would pay back those he cheated 4 times the amount. And Jesus forgave him and said, "Today salvation has come to this house, because this man too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost."

So we did a bit of role-playing. And the tallest person in the youth group, Benedict Wong, played the role of the shorter-than-short Zacchaeus, Andrew Ho played the role of our Saviour, and Marissa, Jennifer, Clarice, Fiona, Caryn, Juliana and myself were the "ke-le-fe"s who played the crowd.

Here we can see Jesus talking to the followers, and Zacchaeus, waiting for Jesus on a "tree".

Zacchaeus: "Oh Lord, take this money which I keep in my "pants". Give it to the poor"
Jesus: "Ok. Wash your hands and let's have some tossai in your house."

In the bible, it states that the crowd was mad at Jesus for associating with a sinner, Zacchaeus. This crowd don't look too mad to me. In fact, I think they're quite happy Zacchaeus repented so they will not need to pay so much tax anymore.

Jennifer thinks, "hmm.. where can I find a sycamore-fig tree to climb?"

Juliana thinks,"What should we have for lunch later since we didn't have breakfast?"
Caryn, "You know, I used to climb fig trees you know. The fruit is round and a bit hairy."
Fiona thinks, "mmm.. the fruit must be sweet.."

Paul, "Once upon a time, there lived a short man named Zacchaeus. He was the chief publican in the time and collected tax on behalf of the Roman Empire bla bla.."
Benedict thinks, "Sure or not...?"
Fiona thinks, " mmm... sycamore-fig tree fruit... yum yum.."

After the bible sharing, we has some left over nasi lemak from the Sunday School Prize Giving Day pot-luck. Some commented that it was a bit sour. Hmm..

And most of us couldn't leave the church because the Chinese Mass was going on in church, and the church goers had to park their cars all along the drive way because development has started on the land beside the church. So some of us went on to support the Pre-Con 1 going on Pre-Con 2 students in their presentation of "I Could Sing of Your Love Forever" and "Jesus, Lover of MY Soul".

So the message we got from the Bible Sharing was this:-

1. We tend to be the crowd, where by we are bias/prejudice/criticize against people who are sinners (beggars, sl*ts, posers etc.). But Christ invites to be like Him, to reach out to these people.

2. We tend to be Zacchaeus, where by we have hurts, resentments, sins that we carry in our lives. Christ invites us (with ever open arms, remember, it was Jesus who called out to Zacchaeus first to come down from the tree) to let go and repent. Because as Zacchaues understood, what he given up was nothing compared to what he would receive in return, the riches of Heaven, the greatest wealth of all.

Drumming the errors.

Latest in HRC updates! (actually this is a little outdated..but some of you may not have heard about it..)
Now we all know that Uncle Paul has recently bought an electronic drum set for Phelan to play with us during mass. You should know it too, and even if you've been dozing off in mass like me, it would be almost impossible not to notice the presence of the drum set (and the drum beat).

However, just when we thought that this was a brilliant move to rope in the younger generations, Father Daniel decides to BAN the drums. Of course, you would agree with me that this does not make any sense at all. Why ban the drums when it blends in nicely with the other instruments?

According to Father Daniel, the drums produced a rather loud and unsettling sound which he
wasn't comfortable with. But helo? This is an ELECTRONIC drum set, not an aquistic one. How is it still loud when we can control the master volume from the mixer and set itself?
To prove my point, he has no complain whatsoever when Fiona uses the drum beats on her keyboard. Weird huh?? Guess what, they both sound almost identical! (except quality maybe abit different lah)

Majority of the people who's opinion we seeked has given positive feedback on the drumset.
Yes, of course we had planned to incorporate the drums into the weekly band-on-duty to produce even more lively music. Many of you should be well aware that the amount of active youth in our church are declining at an alarming rate over the years, with mostly the older generations filling in the gap. Music was among the various long-term solutions to bring back the youth to our church, which can be proven by monitoring more
modern Catholic churches such as SFX, Assumption, SIC and etc. These churches
have a rather powerful youth foundation, and it doesn't surprise me if it all started from music.
As the saying goes, a song is a 100 times more powerful than a prayer. (Don't know if its true or not)

Aunty Anne even had an argument with Father Daniel regarding this matter. After all, its just an issue regarding a drum set and it's availability. Is it worth getting ourselves ripped apart over this issue?

Monthly Youth Bible Sharing!

It has been HRC english speaking youth ministry's tradition to hold a bible sharing meeting during the 1st Sunday of every month. However, it seemed kinda obvious that with the more amount of bible sharings we hold, the less the number of participants. Kinda like an inverse graph, get it?

Guess what, even Aunty Susan also lazy to attend! Heh.

We buka puasa as usual after mass. No free meals from the youth funds this time...aiyer, next time don't want to attend already. Oops.

Brother Andrew Ho was desperately trying to rope in some of the kids there but to no avail. All these kids there are either too cool, too busy or too lansi-lanyongtaufu to give a hoot about our presence.

In the end, this was how small the group had become. What a sight for sore eyes!
However, Bridget and another guy came later and joined us..so not so bad lah, although the number still could be counted be two hands.

Who says bible sharing can't be fun? See, even the ever-serious Juliana can manage a smile and laugh along as well.

Our topic for discussion today was 'Faith' and what it meant to us.

Juliana asked me whether I had listen to what the readings were about during mass. Sorry to say but I did not pay enough attention to remember what it was about. With my quick thinking, I diverted the question to the Paul Chuah who was sitting opposite me, hoping to push the responsibility on someone else.

What do you know? He doesn't listen as well.

And it's not just the both of us. Even Clarice, Bridget, Regina, etc also doesn't listen to the sermons or readings.

So we found out today that most of us don't listen to readings. Hmm, do we actually even pay attention during mass itself? A question to ponder on.

Maybe of course, with the exception of Brother Andrew.

We proceeded to talked about faith and stuff and other related matters which I can't possibly remember. And bla bla bla, yada yada yada...and the end!

THOSE OF YOU THAT DIDN'T ATTEND THIS ONE BETTER ATTEND THE NEXT ONE...OR ELSE!
Or else nothing la. What could we possibly do to you?

HRC Youth Ministry Camp - Day 2&3

It's been awhile since the camp now, and I can hardly remember much of it. I shall attempt to put together the bits and pieces of whatever that's left of my memory.

I do remember John Sek trying to dive into the ocean though.

Benedict nearly scared off a couple of young girls who were swimming there by trying to go skinny dipping.

Thank goodness I managed to stop him in time. We wouldn't want the kids to emerge from the water with horrified looking face now, do we?

We managed to catch this black looking thing, which I think it is a sea cucumber, if I am not mistaken.

To my amazement, the kids didn't know that it could squirt a white juice that looks like the guy's
...erm, you know. It looks really cool, not to mention funny as hell. You can get the video from the disc which we should be passing around sometime soon.

Lunch was just stupendously delicious. Got sambal ketam, sambal udang, vegetables, meat, soup,chicken, sotong...what nonsense also got. I usually don't even eat this kind of food in restaurants. And here I am eating luxury food for each consecutive meal! Praise the Lord!
And praise Brother Andrew for the food!

The funny thing is that we actually get to feed the wild hornbills there. Pardon me for my shallow knowledge but I thought hornbills were only found in Sabah, Sarawak and..the Internet?
Apparently I was wrong.

We had some group activities after lunch which does not ONLY include talking, but also sophisticated and complex stuff such as cutting out articles from newspapers and magazines to be pasted on manila card.

The theme for the discussion was "Sign of the Times', where we were suppose to look for pictures that depicts how the world was slowly experiencing a morale decay and etc.
After sticking all those pictures on the manila cardboard, we were expected to present it out in front of everybody.

Woops, I guess I didn't see THAT coming when I decided to choose some explicit pictures for my group's cardboard.

But still, I can't help it but stare with amazement at my group's effort. Simple yet carrying a powerful message. *cough*
Hey, who put that picture of that girl there???

After that we had team building exercise at the beach! It's really simple actually. All you have to do is hold the hands of the person next to you while a hula hoop is passed throw from one end to the other. It's so simple, even my grandmother would know how to play it.

And yet we still have cases of a few people who keep getting mixed up and don't know which way the hoop goes. Maklumlah, Malaysia boleh ma.

There was this game we played which involves standing on plastic chairs. Half the team had to stand on the chairs while getting themselves over to the finish line.

It looks pretty easy, but in fact its not! It's super easy to lose your balance and fall down like humpty dumpty. But Charles didn't believed it.

And speaking of humpty dumpty, here we have Mr. Charles Teh lying flat on his back. Jonathan couldn't resist throwing sand onto him..well, I suppose that's what you get for lying flat on the beach. Haha :P

Amidst the chaos and confusion, the dogs decided that they should have some butt-action fun too. Whoever said that Fun for Christ 4.0 was for humans only?

Tada! Our most remarkable feat! Building uh, a sandcastle...with only our hands as tools! We can't possibly get anymore childish than this, can we?

Aunty Susan was nowhere to be seen while we were at the beach. No wonder lah, she was in her room conducting some side business.

What business you ask? Selling dried shrimps and keropok! Yeah and if you didn't know, Pangkor is famous for its fresh-from-the-oven keropok and stuff. Not bad ok, business was pouring in like the tsunami in Perlis. Or was it Penang ar?

We had more sessions after that. Our speaker, Brother Gasper from Monfort Boys wasn't really suitable for our group, perhaps due to the fact that we are a bunch of energetic chums who can hardly sit still.

Oliver sat right in front. Perhaps not the best place to be if you're planning to doze off. And I think that's what he did.
Who said that the most safest place was being in the most dangerous place?? Well, I guess that fella may be right. Oliver didn't get caught, at least.

Daniel Ho seems to be in deep meditation. Is it just me or do you see a drip of saliva from the edge of his mouth? Tee hee.

During the night, we had Washing of the Feet™ where we were suppose to wash our partner's feet to remind us of how Jesus washed his disciples' feets and to show his humility.

I probably enjoyed this session the most. As I thought that the video that was played was really touching. Nearly cried lah, but need to show abit of macho-ness. So what to do...tahan lor.

And finally we had group photo!

But damn! Due to the blazing sun and miscommunication, the group photo on my camera turned out to be a fluke. As you can see, most of the people were trying to cover their eyes from the sun and some didn't even look at the camera.

And yes, I am one of them. Try and spot me if you can.

HRC Youth Ministry Pangkor Trip - Day 1

Welcome to HRC's first blog for the English Section! Have fun reading the first inaugural post for this blog!

The Youth Ministry of HRC recently organized a Fun For Christ 4.0 camp in Pangkor with the theme, 'Discipleship for Youths'. Don't worry, it wasn't a gimmick for us to hire any priest from the pool of participators.
When was it you ask? Simple. As far as memory serves, it was on the 24-26th August 2006! I mean 2007.

I was the first one to arrived in church at 6.45am and it was all pitch dark with no one to be seen. What to do, I was conned into believing that the bus would leave at 7am sharp. People only STARTED arriving after 7am.
Next time, I'm going back to my Malaysian timing!

Response was kinda bad for this camp. Apparently the Sunday School kids had decided that we were too uncool to be associated with. Somebody please get Msgr. Daniel to give them a nice lecture! Or a nice spanking. And if that doesn't work, nothing will.

Safety is one of the main issues that we emphasized on.

Contrary to belief, this is NOT a packet of yummy yau char kwai. First aid kit is one of the more essential items when it comes to safety issues.
Don't worry parents, your kids are safe with us! I haven't actually looked inside it but I'm sure there will be lots of gadgets to safe a life should there arise such occasion.

An opening prayer by Edwin Koh set us off on what would be a most tiresome and gruelling 5 hour journey by land, sea and air (the stuff we breathe? not the ride) to reach our final destination! Pangkor Island here we come!!

Journey by boat was suprisingly a short and smooth one without much hassle. No one vomitted, thank God. Only complaint I had was that WHY WERE THERE SO MANY FLIES in one small boat?? Can't even sit still without flies landing on my hair and nose.
And yes, I took a bath before I came ok?

4 pink gay minivans were what we used to get ourselves and the luggages to the hotel which was located by the beach. Each minivan only costs us RM10 which was rather cheap, considering that about 8-9 of us could fit into one van. I thought we were tourists and we were supposed to be charged astronomical prices?

It says here Sea View Hotel and true enough, it had the view of the sea. Situated directly next to the beach, it allowed us to enjoy the cool breeze and the panoramic view of the ocean. So nice.
If got tsunami also we kena first. Got good things also got bad things ma correct?

Everybody unloaded and rushed to the beachside like kampung kids. Sometimes it can be good to just get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and to spend the weekend with the Lord amongst other fellow worshippers.
Wow, did I just say that? So unlike me. Must've been the Holy Spirit.

I was quite tulan when they served us lunch. One dish was mixed vegetables and another dish was the same mixed vegetables, but dumped in soup. And after that got more vegetables. We pay so much but only get vegetables?? But lucky thing, only the first meal didn't turned up like what we expected. The rest was just heavenly. Got sotong, fish, chicken, prawns...so many until I can't possibly name it all here.
The point is, we got what we paid for and probably more.
If I were to make a guess, I would think the total value that we had eaten would amount to 300+ each!

Brother Andrew Ho from the Monfort Boys Angels Society gave his opening speech on house rules and many more other rules while Edwin provided the movement action for those having hearing difficulties.

Among one of the more important rules was STRICTLY NO SWIMMING in the swimming pool. Unless Andrew himself was in it.
I guess it was a reason to keep the kids from endangering themselves.
And what do you know? He was the first to dive into the pool.

We only get to play games during the first day of the camp. The following days were gonna be filled with activity-laden sessions by the REAL brothers from Monfort City.

Among the games played were 'Guess who?' where 2 chums are placed together but separated by a cloth.
Then when the cloth is unveiled, they had to say out the other person's name as fast as possible.
It was a breeze since we were all from the same church anyway except for a few new faces. It'll be rather humiliating if I don't know Paul Chuah's name after this many years, right?

Adults like to have fun too. Sometimes.

We also had treasure hunt. Under normal circumstances, treasure hunt would be easy...but this time we decided to include a catch to it, such as blindfolding half the team!

How does a team expect to win when the blind walks in front, followed by a non-blind person and more blind people? See, this is called the blind leading the non-blind. FAIL! Haha :D

Everybody vying for Edwin's attention to decide who is the winner. Of course, my team won la. Well, with Joshua a.k.a Jesus Jr. settling all the problems and guiding us, how to lose?

The winner gets....*drumrolls*....a pack of chips??? Ok lah, better than nothing.
I thought get some medal or cash award. Apparently I was living in dreamland.

Fun by the beach! After games everyone was just dead tired. What better way to release stress then by taking a stroll by the beach?

Yeah I used to love doing that to myself. But now I'm too easily irritated by the sand that won't get out of your underwear/swim trunks later. I wanted to bury the kid completely in sand but then again, his mother is standing next to me. Better think twice.
